John Keawe
John Keawe won the 2009 Hoku Award for best slack-key album for his CD entitled "Hawaii Island ... Is My Home." He performs a mix of original and authentic island music using his distinct slack-key style. He also had the honor of being one of the artists on Palm Record's Grammy winning CD "Slack Key Guitar Volume II."
With his tenth album, "Play With Me Papa," John received his fourth Na Hoku Hano Hano award for Slack-Key Album of the Year in 2011.
